Imagine that you want to play a video file on your computer, but you don't have the necessary video and audio codec. Most media players don't offer too much information about the required codec, when trying to play the file, they only display a notification message, saying that a required codec is not installed. In this situation, you may lose a lot of time trying to figure out what codec you need for playing the video.

A much better solution would be to install the VideoInspector application, a Windows program which can automatically analyze a video file, displaying the exact codecs which are required for playing it. Thus, you will save a lot of time and effort, as you will know exactly what codec you should download for playing a specific video file.

After launching the program, the user will first need to import the video into the program's interface. At this point, VideoInspector will start analyzing the video and will soon display all the video and audio codecs which are required for playing it. It will also check if the required codecs are installed in the system or not and can also offer a direct download link to the user. The user will just need to click on the Download button next to the codec's name, in order for VideoInspector to open the codec's website and download link.

VideoInspector can detect almost any video and audio codec available, but unfortunately, it doesn't offer support for too many video formats. What's more, it includes a batch mode, which allows the user to analyze several video files at the same time.

Pros

It can analyze almost any video file and display the necessary codecs. Besides that, it can check if the required codecs are installed and can offer a download link for them. Furthermore, it includes a batch mode, for analyzing several video files at the same time.

Cons

The support for video file formats is a bit limited. VideoInspector allows you to quickly analyze any video file for the required video and audio codecs, also offering download links for any of them.
